Setup And Execution
Side-Step to Diagonal Lunge — 7.01: start with the feet close together. Side-step left, then step diagonally into a right-foot lunge. Keep the front foot supported, the trunk controlled and the gaze comfortably forward. Return to the ready position before side-stepping right and establishing a left-foot diagonal lunge. Complete the recovery before changing sides. Select stride length and depth for balance; allow the rear heel to rise rather than forcing both feet flat. Keep the chest lifted without excessive back arching.
Adjust The Difficulty
Select stride length and depth for balance. Complete the recovery before changing sides.
Preparation
Forward/Reverse Lunge and Bilateral Squat.
Common Coaching Errors
Rushing the lateral-to-diagonal transition; losing foot support; failing to complete the return before changing sides.
