Push-Up To CL Limb Raise To Flexion (III) | Exercise 6.96

Exercise 6.96 from Advanced Concepts of Strength & Conditioning for Tennis. Watch the full demonstration before trying this push-up progression.

Exercise Demonstration

Demonstration Note: The video shows the diagonal raise and flexion, followed by re-extension. The pelvis rises during several flexion phases. Shorten the knee-elbow approach when necessary to retain the selected supporting trunk and pelvic position; contact and additional pelvic height are not the objective. Keep the two prescribed one-second holds.

Starting Position

Place a tennis ball at sternum height beneath the chest and begin in a controlled push-up position.

How To Perform The Exercise

Lower and press up, then extend one arm with the opposite leg. Hold the diagonal arm-and-leg raise for one second, then bring the lifted knee and elbow close together and hold for another second. Recover the starting support before the opposite-side repetition. The source does not require knee-elbow contact or an additional re-extension hold. Repeat on the other side.

Coaching Points

Move slowly enough to keep the hips and shoulders steady throughout the extension and flexion phases.

Equipment: Tennis ball and exercise mat or suitable floor.
