Starting Position

Set up in a prone push-up position with the hands under the shoulders and feet together.

How To Perform The Exercise

Move one leg laterally from the hip, return the foot beside the other, then repeat with the opposite leg.

Coaching Points

Maintain the selected trunk and pelvic position while the leg moves from the hip. Retain both hand contacts and recover the moving foot beside the other before switching sides. Reduce range and pace if the hips lift, support changes or the trunk twists to obtain more lateral reach.

Video note: The rear-view clip shows alternating lateral kicks on both sides, with recovery between them. Use it to compare the lateral path and support; the view does not establish every aspect of spinal position.
