Clean Pull (Floor) For Tennis | Exercise 6.122

Resistance Training · Book exercise 6.122

The Clean Pull (Floor) uses the floor-to-extension portion of the weightlifting pull without the later elbow-flexion/high-pull action and without a catch.

Exercise Demonstration

Use the technique photographs to follow the floor-to-extension sequence. Keep the arms long and finish before an elbow-driven high pull or catch.

Technique Photos

The photographs show the starting position, transition and extension reference. Do not continue into an elbow-driven high pull or catch.

How To Perform

Begin with the bar on the floor in the established pulling position. Use a controlled first pull, keep the bar close, then extend the knees and hips explosively while the arms remain long. Finish the extension under control rather than continuing into a high pull or receiving position.

Technique Cues

Keep the bar close to the body, preserve the intended trunk position and distinguish the explosive extension from the elbow-driven high-pull phase.
